Building up a Strategy for Sudan Civil Aviation Authority toward the compliance to the directives of the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO)
The World Civil aviation faces numerous challenges especially following the latest world developments. After the 11th of September events, Security became one of major concerns and the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO) was quick in developing an independent Security Annex in order to preserve the world civil aviation security. The decision by ICAO to implement the global and comprehensive audit program and to publish the results of the state audits has become one the states real challenges.
From this intent, Sudan Civil Aviation Authority (SCAA) has embarked on a courageous and extensive mission that started with the development of a vision for the Air Transport sector of Sudan and that led to a 20 years Civil Aviation
Strategy complying with the directives of the Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO).
EFM assisted the SCAA in building up this strategy covering the restructuring of the Civil Aviation Directorate in a way that separates between the regulatory Authority and the operational framework as well as the Air Transport Liberalization Policy that lead to strong Traffic Growth in Passengers and Cargo in addition to many economic benefits such as employment opportunities and income growth.
